Senior Engineer
Position summary:
Responsible for providing engineering design and support by planning, developing, coordinating and managing projects as directed by senior management.

- Routinely review and optimize existing systems including engineering support of ongoing activities.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors to meet Company goals.
- Design and construct new systems and facilities to meet Company goals.
- Support mine site design, construction and operations programs through analysis and design.
- Provide recommendations and budgets to support proposed designs and projects.
- Implement approved changes and installations through procurement and management of appropriate staff.

Other responsibilities:
- Provide routine reports on work activities and projects.
- Assist in economic analysis of existing and potential projects.
- Review and comment on environmental and regulatory standards as they pertain to projects of interest.
- Work with and direct contract and Company personnel as necessary.
Education and Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor of Science degree or at least 10 years experience in an engineering/technical discipline.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures for project design, procurement, construction and environmental safety and health.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.) as well as CAD software.
- Ability to read, understand, create or interpret documents such as construction and PID drawings.
- Driver’s license and insurance-eligible driving record.
- Ability to write detailed reports and correspondence as well as perform financial analysis with variance analysis and budgets.
- Ability to work with vendors and contractors including pricing and delivery negotiations.

- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to drive, be mobile (walking/standing); to sit at a desk/use computer; to use hands for various tasks; to see and hear adequately to perform all essential functions and maintain a safe work environment in field and office settings. The employee will routinely be required to evaluate production systems in the plant and in the field, which may require walking on rough terrain and through piping systems and may require the employee to climb ladders and stairs.
- Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally to outside weather conditions. There is the potential that the employee will be exposed to low-level radiation. The noise level in the field work environment is usually loud, with normal levels in the office.
