Geo Technician Position Summary: responsible for providing company-wide support to geologic staff, with a focus on current mining operations. The position assists with routine update and maintenance of drill hole databases primarily through use of GIS software and will assist with other GIS and drafting needs including generating and updating mapping projects. The Geo Technician will perform surveying tasks using Trimble equipment, including staking planned drill holes, recording drilled hole and well locations, and other tasks related to mine-related infrastructure. The position will also assist with field work including providing geologic description of drill cuttings and conducting environmental sampling.
Seeking a qualified candidate with an Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in geology or a related discipline, with two years’ experience with similar responsibilities preferred but not required. Strong computer skills including GIS software such as ArcGIS and/or MapInfo, as well as CAD software and MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Job Location:
The position will office either at our Casper Operations Office or Lost Creek mine site north of Rawlins. Field work will typically be at our Lost Creek and Shirley Basin mine sites in south-central Wyoming.
