Job Description for Photonics Metrology and Process Technician
This position coverage a wide range of proficiencies spanning metrology, inline test and unit process areas primarily in support of SUNY's Photonics and 2.5D/3D integration programs. It's understandable that a candidate might not have experience in all of the areas listed below; training will be provided as needed.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Metrology Recipe Builds (KLA, AMAT-Verity 6i, HRP)
- Inline electrical test prober recipe setups
- Inline optical tester qualification runs.
- SEM Inspections (SEMVision, Hitachi)
- Optical inspections (Leica)
- Profilometry; measurements and automated recipe builds.
- Wafer Shipping.
- Photolithography reticle storage.
- Ion Implant Recipe Builds.
Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements for Photonics Metrology and Process Technician
- An Associate's degree in an engineering or science related discipline
OR
- Equivalent experience which includes at least 5 years of semiconductor industry or research and development experience.
- Working knowledge in one or more process/metrology/test/inspection tools used in semiconductor process lines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in computers and IT infrastructure including manufacturing execution system applications, task planning, critical thinking and the aptitude for developing new skills and proficiencies as needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to execute a variety of tasks on short notice. Knowledge of MS Office, and semiconductor equipment operation are strongly recommended.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science related discipline and 2+ years of experience working in the semiconductor industry as a metrology, SEM, FA technician is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with at least 1 year of SEM instrument operation including sample preparation by cleaving or FIB is desired.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check; this position may require annual background checks.

Salary Range: $30.00-$40.00/hour
