Mechanical Engineer/Designer

Isthmus Engineering and Manufacturing Cooperative is looking for an experienced
Mechanical Engineer/Machine Designer to join our team. IEM builds “state of the art”
custom automated machinery for a variety of industries, including but not limited to
Consumer Products, Medical/Life Sciences, Automotive and Light Industrial.

Essential Job Duties                                                                                                                                                   -Mechanical design of automated machinery (components and assemblies) using SolidWorks
-Working within a collaborative team environment
-Interfacing with project leaders and the customer
- Production 2D drawings and BOMs for component procurement & manufacturing
 -Oversight and troubleshooting during machine assembly
 -Machine debug
- Creation of machine documentation package (user manuals, set-up & maintenance
procedure, etc.)
Required skills
 -3D Solid Modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
 -Mechanical detailing and checking
 -Attention to project schedule and project costs
- Microsoft Office suite products
 -Excellent problem solving ability
 -Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 -Technical writing

- Project management
- Robotic systems design and integration
Required experience
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent training and experience) and a minimum of 5
years of experience utilizing the skills listed above
