Vehicle Systems Test Engineer. Troy, MI. Create test procedures, plans, and reports to support test and validation engineering aspects of Autonomous Driving vehicle programs. Conduct closed-course testing of autonomous driving systems on test tracks and proving grounds. Specify instrumentation and equipment on test vehicles and perform test driving and data collection. Support Test Architect Team in system requirement analysis and test case mapping/linking. Design, create, and implement automated data analysis scripts. Analyze collected data to determine if vehicle meets federal and internal requirements. Write test reports to document results and communicate issues. Lead on-road autonomous vehicle testing to support data collection and product validation. Design test routes, interface with vehicle operators, and perform root-cause analysis. Requires Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering and two years of experience in automotive performance testing, planning and executing test plans, performing vehicle validation testing, collecting and analyzing calibration data, developing manual and automated functionality tests, generating technical reports, and utilizing modeling/simulation tools.
